❶ Communication Issues

  • From absenteeism to abscondment (workers running away), these are the commonly reported problems.

  • Time management system and transportation service to monitor worker’s attendance, to effectively minimize the number of workers absconding.
Here’s what you should know, before applying for a work permit:

 

  • The foreign worker must be a passport holder with a validity of at least 18 months.
  • The foreign worker must be between 18 to 45 years old at the time of application.
  • Issued work permits are usually valid for a period between 6 months to 5 years.
  • The foreign worker is only permitted to work in these sectors – Manufacturing, Construction, Plantation, Agriculture, and Services.
  • The foreign worker must be certified PASS for Immigration Security Clearance (ISC) in the source country.
  • The foreign worker must be certified as fit and healthy by the approved medical center in the source country

 

3 Main types of Work Passes you may apply for:
❶ Employment Pass
  • Workers with skills such as manufacturing, construction, plantation and etc.  (This type of pass is issued for a minimum of 2 years, and is only approved for work to be carried out in these sectors

❷ Temporary Employment Pass
  • Employment of foreign workers for a duration of less than 2 years or for jobs with salary less than RM 5,000.

❸ Professional Visit Pass
  • Allowed to visit Malaysia and period up to 6 months. (Workers remain employed in the home country while providing service to Malaysian company)
  • All foreign workers must come from approved source countries such as Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and others.
  • No working shall be allowed to commence before the work permit application/work permit renewal is approved.
